Praia dos Coelhos is a wild beach that's growing in popularity
The first beach to the east of the popular Praia do Creiro in the Arrábida Natural Park is Praia dos Coelhos, which literally means “Rabbits Beach.” You won’t see any bunnies, but it’s a wild and idyllic bay that can only be reached through a path descending from the road above. Photos of its beautiful scenery of Mediterranean vegetation and calm waters guarantee plenty of engagement on social media.

There are no lifeguards, bars, restaurants, bathrooms or facilities of any kind, just fine golden sand and pristine nature all around you (so make sure you bring food and plenty of water -- and take all the trash with you!).
The cold but calm waters are great for swimming on warmer days
It’s no secret, but outside the bathing season it can be fairly quiet. It’s great for swimming, despite the cold water. Do avoid it on summer weekends.

How to Get to Praia dos Coelhos Beach
About one third of the way, down from the road, you'll see the track going in two directions -- follow the one to the right.
To reach this beach, follow a trail from the road, between the beaches of Creiro and Galapinhos. The descent takes just 10 minutes (wear sneakers, not flip flops).
Leave your car on the parking lot of Creiro, and walk up the road (to the right) for about 15 minutes.
