Praia da Conceição

Tourist Guide

Praia da Conceição Beach, Cascais

Praia da Conceição is the best beach for tourists on the Lisbon coast

This beautiful sandy beach (overlooked by one of Cascais' best hotels -- the Albatroz) usually has calm, clear waters. It's the closest beach to the Cascais train station, and the starting point of the oceanfront promenade that goes all the way to Estoril (it’s around a 20-minute walk).

Praia da Conceição Beach, Cascais

Praia da Conceição tends to be crowded in the summer

It’s the most accessible to tourists, and can therefore become quite crowded, especially on weekends, when locals join the tourists.
It got its name from a small chapel that you see connected to the Albatroz Hotel, dedicated to Our Lady of the Conception.
Facing the sand and the sea is a number of bars and restaurants, as well as paddle board rentals.

Praia da Conceição Beach, Cascais

The pedestrianized center of Cascais is just steps from the beach

High tide separates this beach from Praia da Duquesa to the east, but the two form one big beach at low tide. It flies the Blue Flag, so you can be sure that it is a clean beach, and it has lifeguards on duty from May to September.
The restaurants, cafés and shops of Cascais' pedestrianized center are just a few steps away.
